Breaking news from @deadline. Back in 2006, I screened the underground cult classic Vegas in Space at Midnight Mass. During the pre-show, director Phillip R. Ford shared wild, wonderful stories about the making of the film. I turned to him and said, “Someone oughta make a movie about the making of this movie.” He looked at me and said, “Why don’t you do it?”
Well… fast forward to now, and WE ARE DOING IT.
I’m beyond thrilled to announce I’ll be directing the as-yet-untitled feature based on Craig Seligman’s brilliant Doris Fish biography, co-written by me and Michael Varrati.
It’s cult, it’s sci-fi, it’s San Francisco queer history—and it’s a dream come true. Stay tuned, space cadets. This rocket is officially launching.
