Hosted by the incomparable Peaches Christ and Honey Mahogany, the night features performances honoring the long legacy of queer activism, art, and entertainment that Built This City.

MEMBERS OF THE SAN FRANCISCO GAY MEN’S CHORUS

DEAR SAN FRANCISCO

HAUS OF CREAM

Founded in 1978, The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus sparked a nationwide LGBTQ+ choral movement after its first public performance at a vigil on the steps of City Hall following the assassinations of Supervisor Harvey Milk and Mayor George Moscone. Since then, SFGMC has been embedded in the fabric of San Francisco. It has soothed souls in pain, lifted spirits in triumph, and has remained a steadfast beacon of hope. Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer, Chris Verdugo and Artistic Director, Jacob Stensberg, SFGMC has established a heightened level of performance standards bringing renewed audience and choral industry acclaim. Recent touring schedules, recordings, and outreach programs have broadened its impact and reputation in the community while maintaining its signature blend of humor, personality and ground-breaking performances. In 2023, SFGMC opened a historic facility that has become its permanent home for rehearsals and offices. The building also serves as The Chan National Queer Arts Center, the first-ever community space for LGBTQ artists and arts organizations.

Since opening in September 2021, Dear San Francisco has performed over 1,300 performances and entertained over 175,000 locals and visitors. Hailed by critics as “breathtaking” (San Francisco Examiner), “explosive” (CultureVulture), and “a stunner” (Hoodline), the production invites locals and visitors alike on a heart-stopping romp through both the essence and the myth that has San Francisco indelibly etched on our collective imagination. From the 1906 earthquake and Summer of Love to beat poetry and the mysterious fog, San Francisco comes vividly to life through a series of tableaus (acts), including hoop diving, Chinese pole, Korean plank, juggling, and “hand-to-trap” (a form first created by Shana Carroll), performed by an international cast of world-class acrobats.

Born from the shadows of the Bay Area underground, Haus of Cream is a drag haus serving dark glamour, filthy camp, and theatrical chaos in dangerously high doses. Known for provocative looks, haunting performances, and a talent for turning every stage into a beautiful disaster, the Haus blends horror, humor, sex appeal, and absurdity into something impossible to ignore. Equal parts seductive and unhinged, Haus of Cream leaves audiences laughing, screaming, and begging for more.

Since our first appearance in San Francisco on Easter Sunday, 1979, the Sisters have devoted ourselves to community service, ministry and outreach to those on the edges, and to promoting human rights, respect for diversity and spiritual enlightenment. We use humor and irreverent wit to expose the forces of bigotry, complacency, and guilt that chain the human spirit.

COCKETTES NOUVEAU

BEBE SWEETBRIAR

THE CAST OF COMPTON’S CAFETERIA RIOT

Cockettes Nouveau is the next generation of Cockettes, led by original Cockette Scrumbly Koldewyn and produced by Dan Karkoska. The ensemble consists of members of Thrillpeddlers — Birdie Bob Watt, Noah Haydon, Bonnni Suval, Steven Satyricon, Eric Wertz — who were responsible for the revival of the Cockettes beginning in 2010, along with new blood dipping into the worlds of performance and rock with Erica Richardson and Ellie Stokes. Recently selling out their SF Sketchfest show in 2026, Cockettes Nouveau has been filling houses across the Bay Area and in NYC. Currently, with Spectrum Theatre, they are planning a revival of the Cockettes’ musical Vice Palace, which starred Divine, to expose a new audience to the legendary, gender-bending, psychedelic troupe.

The San Francisco-based drag chanteuse BeBe Sweetbriar has graced every notable stage in the City on the Bay and many stages around the World including Hong Kong, China. As award winning performer, Top 10 USA Dance Radio and Top 25 Billboard charting recording artist (UNITY, 2017), BeBe has been the opening act for Destiny’s Child Kelly Rowland, TV’s Ugly Betty star Alec Mapa, Broadway-star and The Voice alum Frenchie Davis, Billboard Dance Divas Kristine W. and Luciana, and Punk Rock star Peaches.
BeBe has most recently been a featured subject in the nationally published “Legends of Drag: Queens of a Certain Age” which celebrates and gives trailblazing drag queens from across the U.S. their flowers. Simply put… There’s Nothing Sweeter Than Sweetbriar!

Co-written by Collette LeGrande, Donna Personna and Mark Nassar directed by Ezra Reaves. Produced by Tenderloin Museum and immersive pioneer, Mark Nassar. This immersive play tells the story of the 1966 Compton’s Cafeteria Riot, a pivotal moment in LGBTQ+ history when trans women, drag queens, and sex workers fought back against constant police harassment in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district. It happened three years before Stonewall, but most people still don’t know it. This play makes sure you do. We’ve been running for over a year to packed houses. And pancakes are included.

PIPPI LOVESTOCKING

JOHN GINOLI

DIRTY CAROL

Pippi Lovestocking is the drag persona of character, actor, and standup comedian Scot Coker Free who arrived in San Francisco in 1991 fresh out of college from Georgia State University in Atlanta. In partnership with Heklina, Pippi was cofounder of the infamous South of market drag club Trannyshack and became a well-known fixture in the underground drag performance scene of San Francisco until the 2020s. Scot was residing in southern California pursuing acting when the shocking news of Heklina’s death brought him back to San Francisco for the farewell memorial celebration held at the Castro Theatre. After his comedy tribute to his long time friend he suffered a heart infarction Immediately after his performance. He was quickly rushed to the Davies emergency room and was later hospitalized after heart surgery. Sepsis set in post-surgery and led to the amputation of his hands and feet. He has spent these past three years down in Palm Springs adjusting to being a quadruple amputee, as well as the subject of an upcoming limited series currently in production, Parts of Pippi.
Tonight marks the triumphant return of Pippi at the very theater where this journey of healing began.

Jon Ginoli formed the gay rock band Pansy Division in 1991 because there were no truly OUT performers in rock music at that time.

For 35 years they have brought their in-your-face queer rock to the world.

Last year they played their 1000th show, and this year they are touring Europe.

Dirty Carol is San Francisco’s newest drag sensation, serving up powerhouse vocals,  ribald comedy, and unapologetic activism. She was crowned “Foxy Mary” by the crowd at Dolores Park’s legendary Hunky Jesus contest this year, after exorcising Trump from her queenly hoo-hoo.  Dirty Carol has quickly become a local icon after leading the city’s No Kings protest, drawing  worldwide attention to her “Queens, No Kings” rallying cry with a fabulous Marie Antoinette look. Fresh off three sold-out weekends at Martuni’s this spring with her smash hit show “Broadway Sluts”, Dirty Carol is taking her show on the road to Mexico for Pride in June.

Miss X, born Dalton Bradley Chandler II in Cincinnati, Ohio, emerged as a defining force in San Francisco’s underground drag and performance scene as a core member of the legendary Sluts A Go-Go. After early years in Los Angeles and a formative move to San Francisco in 1973, a fateful introduction by Tippi to Doris Fish in 1979 led to an enduring creative partnership that helped shape queer cult performance history. Making a debut that same year as the enigmatic Miss X—originally conceived as heiress Helen Damnation in disguise—she quickly became indispensable to the troupe, bringing sharp cinematic sensibility, deep knowledge of classic Hollywood dialogue, and a commanding vocal presence. As the group’s principal singer, Miss X delivered standout moments including her performance of “Unforgettable” as Queen Veneer in Vegas in Space, cementing her legacy as a vital contributor to one of San Francisco’s most influential drag collectives. Now based in Phoenix, Arizona, her work remains a touchstone of queer performance art and DIY filmmaking history.
